Tegger's '91 Integra RS   back to top

1991 Integra RS

Hey, that looks just like my car! Wait... that IS my car.

It's a '91 Integra RS in Flint Black (NH-526M). This was not my original choice of color. I wanted the metallic seafoam green that was wildly popular in the early '90s, but for 1991 in Canada that was only available in the LS and GS. Unfortunately, if you bought the LS/GS, you had to get a sunroof as well, and being 6' 2", the sunroof caused a serious headroom shortage with brand-new seats, so the RS it was.

You know, I had the appraiser tell me just last week (Apr '05) that there aren't too many of these left on the road any more. Most of them have corroded or crashed themselves into oblivion.

There's no surface rust, and that's due entirely to lots of hard work on my part. My touchups have been crude but effective. Rust that's been removed has never come back. Problem is, the repainted spots looks lousy, and you can plainly see the spots that have been fixed. The whole car really should have a repaint, as there are zillions of stone chip touchups as well.

The wheel covers in the pics are original (since replaced), and thanks to the miles and winters, the paint is flaking off like crazy. New they're about $120 Cdn each. I found a decent set of used ones on eBay for $80 Cdn. They came from Glendale Arizona, and they're in a LOT better shape.
